can fish live in water features?

i have a water feature and i was wondering if fish could live in there? ive never had a fish before and if they can live in there i am going to get one. whats the best way to look after a fish in a water feature? and can they live in there without getting sucked up? and how long will they live in there?
thanks

What sort of ‘water feature’? Is it like a toliet bowl (they do make those for fish tanks), an indoor fountain? How big is it? How much water can it hold? What sort of filtration does it have?

If it has a large enough pond of water then yes you could keep fish in it. But you should be looking at 20gal or more for even small goldfsih.

The pump should have some sort of grill over it to keep fish and debris getting sucked in.

The other thing to consider is that once you add fish you cant use any chemicals to keep the water clean. You have to rely on the natural biological system and water changes to keep the water fresh. you WILL get algae of some sort growing in the water feature.

Not too many fish like all those bubbles and will shy away from it. All they do is take up swimming space. Best to keep your tank natural looking.
