I just made a pond … I just made a pond in the past two days. Got my carpet/cement underlay installed, wetted it down and now drying and hardening. Will put down a 17 x 15 black liner tomorrow, fill it up and then cut off access, then put down bluechip and big rocks around it. New filter and new pump, it is an expensive venture. How big were your koi when you got them? Do they breed on their own? I heard the older eat the small tiny fish? Don’t see plants in your pond…do plants make it murky?
I have mine that … I have mine that are about 30 inches,good 14 to 16 pounders, that are 10 years old, they’re eating me out of a house. lol It depends how much volume of water you have I have a 5000 gl pond my new 2 year old fry are already about 8 inches.I’ve heard they live about 80 years. If that’s true? I’ll never find out.
beautiful pond, how … beautiful pond, how long did they take to get that big? also how do you keep your pond so clean and clear? What do you do to keep unwanted animals out that might harm your fish?
ebay has high … ebay has high protein koi food 100lbs for $200 (45% protein) which is used for koi 1-3 years of age. Then you might as well go with koi food from the supermarket or buy on ebay which is cheaper (35% protein)

What brand of food do you think is the best? You know betwen the ones you find in any petshop, I´m not able to order it from somewere else, Thanks a lot I´d apreciate your time.
Depending on the … Depending on the type of koi, It will range between $200.00 – $1,000.00 for a full grown (12″- 36″) sometimes it may range even higher, a koi show in japan sold it’s prize winning koi for around $300,000! All prices listed in USD
as your koi are … as your koi are friendly you could try hand feeding them brown bread with honey on, my koi really enjoy it but as they haven’t been used to our pond for a while they are a bit shy. but its a nice thing to see anyway. great pond btw
nice koi! i saw … nice koi! i saw this man feeding koi fish mini pork weiners and the koi were munching them down…don’t know if this is safe for them but non have died and it’s been a while.
This is my backyard koi pond.Its about 1000 gallons. All the koi were raised from small ones. as you can see they make wonderful pets.
